Russia's Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) has developed a genetic smallpox vaccine. While Russia already has 3 registered smallpox vaccines, these drugs can cause unpleasant side effects, the agency expertly explained. Rospotrebnadzor reassured the public that its new vaccine, created in less than 30 days (???), was safe and effective. 🐵
