Yesterday, I had a magic conversation with two HKUST professors working in the Admissions team… At first, we discussed academic topics slowly, talked about Uzbekistan, and they also shared about their home country. Then the conversation gradually became more personal when I asked about their families, and we became closer. Finally, I got to the point and asked, “Have you ever worked in the admissions team?” They replied, “Yes, we are interviewers.” After that, I said to myself, “uhh bosish kerak, this might not come again,” and asked, “Specifically, how do you expect applicants to be?” They looked at each other, smiled, paused for a moment, then began speaking… Their answer was so specific that I never imagined they would go into such detail. In that moment, I remembered my own interview with HKUST, and yes, everything matched. Despite having had 4 interviews with different universities, I didn’t know those at all. Additional Mission

“In Uzbekistan, only 17.5% of students in STEM are women, despite making up over 54% of the total university student population.” This clearly shows that women’s opportunities are still limited in science and technology… so what can we do? Wait? We say NO to waiting! That’s why we founded DigiPrincess — to change even 0.1% of this reality. DigiPrincess is an online program that helps girls improve their skills in STEM, research writing, programming, and teaches how to apply to programs globally. Here’s what’s waiting for you: 🎓 Certificates for active participants 💻 Online webinars — from cybersecurity to applying to programs 🤝 A supportive network of ambitious girls 🗓 November 13–20, 2025 | Online 📩 Registration opens soon — stay tuned and be part of the first generation of DigiPrincesses. 🔎@digiprincess_2025

🔧 What to Do If You’re New to Engineering? 💡 So, you’ve decided you might want to become an engineer - or at least, you’re curious about what engineers actually do. That’s a great place to start. Engineering isn’t just about equations or machines; it’s about learning how to think, how to solve problems, and how to make ideas real. 🚀 Explore First If you’re new to engineering, the most important thing is to explore. Don’t worry yet about whether you’ll be a mechanical, electrical, or civil engineer. High school is your chance to discover what excites you the most. Maybe you’ll find out you love coding 💻, or maybe you’ll realize you enjoy designing and building physical things 🛠️. Both paths can lead you into engineering. 📚 Build a Strong Foundation Here are a few things that will help you build a strong foundation: • ➗ Get good at math and physics 📐. These are the “languages” of engineering. Try to understand how they connect to real life - not just memorize formulas. • 💻 Learn to code. You don’t need to become a computer scientist, but even basic programming will train your brain to think logically. • 🤖 Build things - anything. Whether it’s a model car, a robot, or even a simple app, building teaches you more than any textbook can. • 🔍 Stay curious. Watch videos, read about inventions, and ask “how does this work?” every time something interests you. • 🤝 Find your community. Join a robotics club, STEM competition, or even an online group of students who love creating things. 🌟 Most engineers didn’t know what kind of engineer they wanted to be when they were new. They just kept learning, exploring, and building - and one day, they found the branch that felt right. So if you’re just starting out, don’t rush to choose your “field.” Focus on developing the skills and curiosity that all great engineers share. The path will reveal itself as you go. ➡️Follow for more.
