Why Are Environmental Issues More Serious Than We Imagine? Our imagination often fails to grasp the true scale of environmental issues, as the causes of these problems have become so widespread and normalized. Many people choose to ignore them, and some countries refuse to take any concrete action to reduce the growing threat. However, the reality is that the problem is becoming increasingly life-threatening with each passing day. One of the most pressing concerns is deforestation. Vast numbers of trees are being cut down indiscriminately, causing irreparable damage to our ecosystems. First and foremost, this leads to a reduction in fresh air, resulting in a stuffy atmosphere and breathing difficulties. Additionally, the clarity and purity of air are directly dependent on the presence of trees. As deforestation increases, air pollution worsens, and more people suffer from its effects. Another critical issue is climate change, a largely human-caused problem that has already inflicted devastating harm on ecosystems and agricultural systems. Global warming has led to increased water demands for plants, meaning that crops now require more water than before. As a result, many crops are dying, leaving farmers with limited resources to feed their families. Global warming has also caused the melting of major icebergs, which leads to rising sea levels and an increased risk of flooding. This trend has accelerated in recent decades. Scientists have already recorded a 20 cm rise in sea levels since 1900. A clear example is Pakistan, which in 2022 experienced catastrophic flooding that severely affected over 33 million people. https://t.me/greenlink_uz
