🎙️Ms.Anastasia Akkuratova, Deputy Director of the Department of State Policy for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, at the 25th OSCE Alliance High-Level Conference against Trafficking in Persons: 🇷🇺 A safe childhood remains at the core of Russia’s social policy. Children’s well-being is a national strategy priority. Preventive measures must be central to the fight against child trafficking, especially for the most vulnerable groups. 👨👩👧👦 Family as the main protective factor. Russia is reducing social orphanhood: a 20% decrease over the past 5 years. In 2024 alone, the proportion of social orphans dropped by 9.5%. Multifunctional family support centres are being established (55 opened in 2 years). Supporting families is key to prevention. 🏫 Phasing out institutional care Over the past 10 years, the number of children in orphanages in Russia has decreased by 70%. Russia encourages OSCE participating States to continue reducing institutionalisation in favour of family-based care. 💻 Digital safety for children Russia has updated its Concept for Information Security of Children. Measures include protection from harmful content, development of digital literacy, safeguarding of personal data, and fostering of resilience and traditional values.
