🎙Read excerpts from the statement by Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE M.Buyakevich «On the Report by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media» (meeting of the OSCE PC, 10.04.2025) 💬 The situation regarding the safety of professional journalists and other media specialists, as well as the inevitability of accountability for crimes committed against them, has noticeably deteriorated in recent years 📵 The West has fully shifted to complete cleansing of its media space from inconvenient facts, employing repressive toolkit of political censorship. Under the factitious pretext of ensuring national security, bans on television and radio broadcasting are introduced, internet resources are blocked, access to financial services is terminated, correspondent offices are shut down, and information sources are divided into "acceptable" and "unacceptable" ❗️The Kiev regime, with inhumane passion, is orchestrating a hunt for representatives of Russian media. Since the beginning of this year, correspondentsA.Martemyanov, A.Prokofyeva, A.Fedorchak, cameramanA.Panov, and the driver of a film crew, A.Sirkeli, have been killed. CorrespondentsM.Romanenko, M.Kevkhiev, S.Larina, I.Liberman, Y.Sholmov, N.Goldin, and M.Skuratovhave been seriously injured 📑 In accordance with international humanitarian law, journalists and media workers are civilians and must be protected at all times, and deliberate attacks on them constitute a war crime.
