🎙Read excerpts from the statement by Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE A.Lukashevich «On the Report by the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova» (meeting of the OSCE PC, 08.05.2025) 💬 We take note of efforts of the OSCE Mission to Moldova aimed at facilitating the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict while taking into account the region’s special status. We acknowledge the Mission’s work in facilitating renewed negotiations between Chisinau and Tiraspol. However, the key obstacle to resuming dialogue between the sides remains Moldova’s so-called "separatism" law ☝️Given the prolonged pause in negotiations, we expect the OSCE to take a more active stance in ensuring the implementation of previously reached agreements. We also note the lack of adequate response from the Mission regarding the actions of Moldovan authorities that worsen the living conditions of civilians in Transnistria 🔻Chisinau continues its policy of pressure on Tiraspol: ▪️ Economic blockade of the region; ▪️ Use of energy leverage to create artificial hardships. 👉 These measures lead to declining productionand falling living standards in Transnistria. The OSCE must respond more decisively to these challenges ℹ️ A systemic solution is only possible with the resumption of the "5+2" negotiation format, which was suspended by Chisinau in 2019. This mechanism remains the only viable platform for developing a sustainable political settlement. Until negotiations yield a mutually acceptable resolution to the conflict, the peacekeeping mission (which has successfully operated for over 30 years) and Russia’s military presence in the region will continue to serve as guarantors of stability
