🎙Read excerpts from the statement of Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE A.Volgarev «World Press Freedom Day» (meeting of the OSCE PC, 08.05.2025) 🗓 On May 3, the international community celebrated World Press Freedom Day. Every year it becomes more and more mournful amid the professional bankruptcy of the specialized international structures that have signed up to a multitude of commitments to protect media freedom and the safety of journalists, including the OSCE. ▪️ "Collective West" countries continued to systematically squeeze the Russian information presence out of their media field, blocking websites and obstructing the work of journalists. The extremist website "Mirotvorets", which is a "firing list" of reporters, is still in the public domain. 🕯 “The Martyrs for the Truth" project was launched to commemorate all media workers who gave their lives fulfilling their professional duty. Under this initiative of the Donetsk News Agency,Zaporozhye News Agency,Lugansk Media Center,Kherson News Agency and a journalist, a member of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights by Alexander Malkevich, for the first time information was collected. It contains journalists who died at the hands of the Kiev regime. ▪️The Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media should condemn all existing egregious violations in a straightforward and vague manner. So far, there is no proper implementation of commitments in the Organization.
