🗓 On May 26, a round table on the topic: “The Helsinki Final Act as Political Heritage of the Victory in the Second World War” was held in Vienna. The event was organised by the Permanent Missions of Russia and Belarus to the OSCE, and the Embassy of Russia in Austria. 🎖It was devoted to the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Nazism in World War II and the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Helsinki Final Act. 🤝 We are grateful to the main speakers - Ms.Natalia Narotchnitskaya, President of the Historical Perspective Foundation, Ms.Elena Dostanko, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University (BSU), Mr.Nikita Belenchenko, Director of the Center for International Studies of BSU, Mr.Grigory Lukiantsev, Director of the Department of Multilateral Human Right Cooperation of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr.Vadim Gigin, Director General of the National Library of Belarus. 💬 A lively discussion took place on the importance of the Helsinki process for the development of the modern system of international relations, the role and future of the OSCE, the importance of preserving historical memory on the Great Victory and the feat of the peoples of the Soviet Union, as well as the countering attempts to falsify history. Austrian experts and representatives of the diplomatic corps also shared their assessments. 🎥 The event included a demonstration of the project “Nuremberg. Casus Pacis Project”, prepared by the international media group “Russia Today” and the materials presented by the Archive of the Foreign Policy of the Russian Federation, dedicated to the anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act. 📑 The report by the Russian Foreign Ministry “Eighty Years After the Great Victory: Europe has Once Again Fallen in the Shadow of Nazism” was presented to the participants of the event.
