🎙Interview of the Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE A.Lukashevich to "RIA Novosti" following the round table in Vienna on "The Helsinki Final Act as Political Heritage of the Victory in the Second World War" (May 26, 2025) 🇪🇺 In Europe, dangerous tendencies to promote the ideology of Nazism and hateful ideologies are once again gaining strength. In an open form this is manifested in Ukraine, in the Baltic States, and in the so-called enlightened democracies of Western Europe. 👥 The protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, the fight against neo-Nazism, everything that Europe once stood for is now being put under the knife. Such a policy stems from a conscious policy of rewriting history, revising the causes and outcomes of the Second World War, silencing the decisive role of the Soviet Union and the Red Army in defeating Nazism and liberating Europe from the brown plague. ⚠️ The revision of modern European history after the Great Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the forgetting of the agreements on co-operation between States with different socio-political systems and the principle of the indivisibility of security reached within the framework of the Helsinki Final Act and subsequent CSCE-OSCE decisions have become evidence of the fierce unwillingness of the countries of the Western alliance to build life on the principles of constructive partnership, non-discrimination in international affairs, respect for sovereign equality and mutual consideration of the interests of all States without discrimination. 🇷🇺 Moscow will continue to pursue active systemic work in the OSCE together with its allies and like-minded countries in various formats in order not to allow the lessons of the past to be forgotten. The Russian side will also counter attempts to mock the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and will not allow the truth about that terrible war and the great victory of the Soviet Union to be distorted. The West needs "historical therapy" amid plans to contain Russia. 🔗Read in Full
