🎙Read excerpts from the statement by Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE M.Buyakevich «On International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict» (meeting of the OSCE PC, 19.06.2025) 🗓 In 2015, the UN General Assembly proclaimed June 19 as the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict. Its main objective, as stipulated by the resolution 69/293 that established it, is to “raise awareness to put an end to conflict-related sexual violence” 💬 Unfortunately, the “collective West” has been using the sensitive issue of sexual violence for many decades as a means of low-grade cynical propaganda to demonize political opponents and denigrate unwanted states. Our country encountered this approach back in the final stages of World War II, when, in order to mobilize efforts to resist the Red Army, Hitler’s military ideologists actively spread the myth of alleged mass rapes and other so-called atrocities committed by Soviet soldiers ❗️The methods of Goebbels' ministry have been actively adopted by Ukrainian neo-Nazis and their Western patrons. Since 2022, they have been continuously "broadcasting" some "research" allegedly based on witness testimony. At the same time, as a rule, they are not subject to verification. Then these unsubstantiated accusations are replicated on international platforms as some kind of evidence of crimes committed by the Russian army ☝️We draw attention to the hushing up and concealment of real cases of sexual violence by right-wing radical groups and the ukrainian armed forces against the civilian population of Donbass since 2014. Such cases were also recorded in the territories controlled by Kiev. And this is not to mention the gravest crimes committed by ukrainian neo-Nazis and Western mercenaries in the Kursk region. After the invasion of Russian territory in August 2024, they unleashed real terror against civilians. There is extensive documented evidence of sexual violence, torture and other cruel treatment. We emphasize that this is genuine evidence, unlike the sick fantasies of representatives of Western countries and their Kiev protégés 🇬🇧 The topic of crimes, including sexual ones, committed by British soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan has recently gained momentum. Testimonies are given by several dozen veterans of the elite British Marine unit, who point to numerous murders of civilians committed by their fellow soldiers. It is reported that during raids, the military resorted to the tactic of indiscriminately killing civilians, including those detained or in hospital. Soldiers entered houses, raped women, killed those sleeping. At the same time, representatives of the British special forces everywhere felt their complete impunity 🇷🇺 The Russian Federation categorically condemns sexual violence in any form. No circumstances can be considered mitigating. Such crimes must be investigated, and the perpetrators must be held accountable. Work to prevent and eradicate sexual violence must be systemic, comprehensive, taking into account its identified causes and origins. Focused efforts to combat the manifestations of this evil must bring long-term and sustainable results
