🎙Read excerpts from the statement of Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE A.Volgarev «On annual progress report on the OSCE gender action plan» (meeting of the OSCE PC, 18.09.2025) 🔹We categorically object to the continued infusion of "Ukrainian issues" into all areas of OSCE activity. As well as the promotion of non-consensus concepts such as "gender, corruption, and access to natural resources," "gender, violent misogyny, and violent extremism," and a number of others 🔹We caution against attempts to impose an expanded interpretation of the "Women, Peace, and Security" agenda. We believe that the UN Security Council plays a leading role in these discussions. The key to the effective implementation of Resolution 1325 is strict adherence to the mandate defined in the document. In this regard, we emphasize the protection of women's economic and social rights, the creation of favorable conditions for their professional development, and the protection of family, motherhood, and childhood 🔹Ensuring equality between men and women and promoting women's rights is a priority of the Russian Federation's state policy. In accordance with Article 19 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the state guarantees the equality of human and civil rights and freedoms, regardless of gender. Men and women have equal rights and freedoms, as well as equal opportunities to realize them 🔹We are convinced that ensuring equal rights and opportunities for men and women is crucial in eradicating poverty and combating gender stereotypes, as well as preventing discrimination and violence. Achieving this goal will require more than just ambitious plans and declarations of "good intentions." First and foremost, it requires long-term, systematic work to address the root causes of inequality and the conscientious fulfillment by participating States of their relevant commitments
