🎙Read excerps from the statement of Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs D.Birichevskiy at the 2025 OSCE Economic and Environmental Dimention Implementation Meeting 💬 We consider the issues of reducing risks of natural disasters , including in the context of climate change, to be important and worthy of constructive discussion. 🔹 The OSCE has adopted a number of documents addressing various aspects of disaster preparedness and management. 🔹 The Russian Federation pays special attention to these issues, a Unified State System for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations has been created and is successfully functioning in our country. 🔹 A powerful contingent of forces and means involved in the protection of settlements, economic facilities and cultural values from possible dangers and risks consists of more than 1.4 million people. 🔹 To reduce the risks of natural disasters, the latest technologies are actively used, such as remote sensing of the Earth and interpretation of data using artificial intelligence. 🔹 We oppose attempts to politicize the OSCE agenda, which leads to the degradation of the Organization's economic and environmental dimension, and the refusal to consider truly important issues with unifying potential.
