🎙Read excerpts from the statement by Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE M.Buyakevich «Report by the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media» (meeting of the OSCE PC, 27.11.2025) 💬 The situation regarding the safety of professional journalists and experts in the media sphere, as well as the inevitability of accountability for crimes committed against them, has noticeably deteriorated in recent years 🔐 Countries of the "collective West" continued to systematically squeeze Russian information presence out of their media landscape, blocking websites, and obstructing the work of journalists. The extremist website "Mirotvorets" remains publicly accessible, serving as a "hit list" of reporters, public figures, journalists, and generally anyone whom the Zelenskiy regime has designated as its ideological opponents ❗️As a result of this policy, the international system for protecting the professional rights of the media community is dysfunctional even in cases of deliberate murders and terrorist attacks against journalists and war correspondents. Since the beginning of this year alone, at least six Russian media workers – Alexander Martemyanov, Alexander Fedorchak, Andrey Panov, Anna Prokofieva, Nikita Goldin and Ivan Zuyev – have been killed in targeted attacks by Ukrainian Armed Forces ⚠️ The Office of the OSCE Representative on media freedom should directly, without any vague language, condemn all egregious violations. The lack of an appropriate response on its part undermines the OSCE's legacy in this area and its ability to effectively address the challenges it faces
