🎙Read excerpts from the statement of Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the OSCE A.Volgarev «On the occasion of Human Rights Day» (meeting of the OSCE PC, 11.12.2025) 💬 In 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This unique document, which established universal rights and recognized their equal value, remains relevant to this day. ▪️The hatred towards everything related to Russia and our shared history, cultivated for years in Ukraine and the Baltic states, has resulted in an unprecedented rise in neo-Nazism and xenophobia. Misanthropic ideas are once again being actively spread — marches of Nazi collaborators, torchlight processions, and the "war" on monuments have long since become the "norm." For Russophobes, nothing remains sacred — now the goal includes banning canonical Orthodoxy as well. This blind hatred towards everything Russian continues to be fueled by the elites in Brussels and London. ▪️It is regrettable that a substantive and direct discussion on the causes of the dire human rights situation in the OSCE area is not taking place. We do not see any search for ways out of the current impasse. There are also no prerequisites visible yet for resuming such a dialogue. Instead, we continue to observe how the West repeats the same worn-out Russophobic clichés like a mantra, which have nothing to do with reality. 🇷🇺 The Russian Federation consistently advocates for building cooperation in the human rights sphere in strict accordance with universally recognized principles and norms of international law, as well as commitments within the OSCE. No rules developed by a "club of selected states" can serve as their substitute. Genuine cooperation is possible only on the basis of equal and respectful dialogue.
