The Second Joint Ministerial Meeting of the Strategic Dialogue between the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf and Central Asia completed in Tashkent Within the framework of the event, the implementation of the results of the first summit of the Heads of State of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and Central Asia, which was held in Jeddah on July 19, 2023, was reviewed. It was noted that this format continues to develop as a platform for strengthening mutual understanding, trust and partnership between participants. Countries stressed the need to develop trade and economic ties between the regions, including cooperation in ensuring sustainable supply chains, transport and transit links, food, energy and water resources, as well as the implementation of joint investment projects and the development of clean energy. The parties called for high-level active participation in the first Gulf and Central Asian Investment Forum, which will be held in Riyadh on May 29, 2024. The participants discussed the importance of coordinating positions in the current format, stressed the need to preserve the multilateral system and efforts to achieve peace, security and stability in the world. Calls for cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, good-neighborliness and principles of international law were voiced, the importance of respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of States, as well as refraining from the use or threat of use of force, was emphasized. The importance of addressing climate change and environmental challenges by collective action was noted. Saudi Arabia's intention to establish an international water organization in Riyadh to address the water shortage and mobilize investment to this end was commended. The establishment of a Contact Group to prepare for the second Summit of the Heads of State of the Strategic Dialogue of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and Central Asia in Samarkand in 2025 was agreed.
