🌐🌆BRICS Urbanization Forum opens in Russia 🔹The event, which takes place in Kazan, will bring together 200 heads of municipalities from 21 countries, including South Africa, Ethiopia, Egypt and Morocco. On the agenda: 🟠the creation of a new international organization: BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities; 🟠establishing a list of its members; 🟠the election of its head; 🟠the choice of its headquarters; 🟠the development of a work plan; 🟠the discussion of joint projects. Other events are planned on the sidelines of the Forum: 🟠a discussion on inter-municipal and international cooperation moderated by Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of Rossiya Segodnya, of which Sputnik is part; 🟠the signing of cooperation agreements. 🔹The Association's activity is based on the principles of equality, win-win partnership and respect for each other's traditions and culture, without political pressure. 🔹The Association will intensify cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, education and ecology. It is expected to become an important source of useful knowledge, encouraging to study and implement the experience of other cities for the benefit of residents. 🔹The Forum is organized by the Kazan City Hall with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, its Diplomatic Academy and the international humanitarian cooperation agency Rossotrudnichestvo.
