🌟 In Samarkand, a Waste Collector Became a Millionaire In Samarkand, Gulmira Jumayeva — a woman who used to work among waste wearing gloves — has achieved remarkable success through her hard work and perseverance. At first, nobody knew her, and some people even turned away. She started her business with just a few bags and an old cart, and in 2025, she was recognized as “Woman of the Year” in Uzbekistan. Gulmira shares her story: "My boss and I would collect waste from restaurants and cafes. We got paid for it, and we also sorted it to send to factories. When things got tough, in 2008 I went to Russia. There I worked at a waste processing company and admired my female boss. After returning, I started accepting waste in Uzbekistan." At first, people doubted her: "Anu, Gulmira is crazy to buy waste for money!" Her mother warned her: "Don’t do this…" But Gulmira remained determined: "Mom, the time will come; we will build a big factory." Today, what began with 20 carts is now managed with 93 pieces of equipment, showcasing her hard work and determination.
