e-flux Video & Film: Staff picks: Saodat Ismailova Одна из ведущих кураторских платформ/онлайн изданий e-flux в этом месяце спотлайтят работы узбекистанской медиа хедожницы Саодат Исмаиловой и очень круто ее презентуют: "Saodat Ismailova, one of the most accomplished representatives of a new generation of moving-image artists from Central Asia". "Moving-image artists" - интересная формулировка, не правда ли? Саодат работает в смешение разных жанров и форматов - в своих фильмах она использует исторические архивные материалы, сниамет документальные и игровые сцены, создает вытовочные экспозиции и кинопроекты. В ноябре на e-flux Video & Film можно увидеть 3 фильма Саодат: The Haunted (2017), an intimate video letter to the spirit of the extinct Turan tiger, which disappeared from Central Asiain the 20th century (!!!) Her Right (2020) and Her Five Lives (2020) which were both made by the artist during the pandemic, using found footage to poetically recount the history of Uzbekistan as well as reconsider representational politics of the Uzbek cinema, told through the images of women.
