On December 6, 2023, the Russian Ambassador to Eritrea H.E.Mr.Igor Mozgo met with the Commissioner of Culture and Sports of the State of Eritrea, Ambassador, H.E.Mr.Zemede Tekle. The sides discussed the visits of H.E.Mr.Zemede Tekle to the cities of Perm and St.Petersburg, his meetings with the Russian Minister of Sport H.E.Mr.Oleg Matytsin and the Russian Minister of Culture H.E.Mrs.Olga Lyubimova, as well as the implementation of memorandums of understanding and cooperation, signed by the Eritrean side with the Russian Ministry of Sports and the Russian Ministry of Culture. The parties discassed the possible participation of Eritrean delegations in the World Youth Festival in Sochi in March 2024 and the World Friendship Games in September 2024 in the cities of Moscow and Yekaterinburg. H.E.Mr.Zemede Tekle emphasized Eritrea's interest in participating in these events.
