On April 2, 2024, the President of the State of Eritrea H.E. Mr. Isaias Afwerki, accompanied by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy of the Russian Federation, Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov visited the frigate of the Russian Pacific Fleet "Marshal Shaposhnikov". The navy frigate arrived with a friendly visit at the Eritrean port "Massawa". The Eritrean leader got acquainted with the technical capabilities, various types of weapons and the history of the frigate. President H.E. Mr. Afwerki left a note in the Book of Honorary Guests. In memory of his visit to the ship, Head of State was given an officer's cap and sailor's vest.
