☦ The Embassy of Russia wishes a Happy Easter to all Chistians in Pakistan. Easter is the principal Christian holiday, celebrating Jesus Christ's Resurrection and the end of Lent. In Russia, believers prepare traditional Easter treats - kulich and eggs, painted in different colors, especially red, which symbolizes the blood and suffering of Christ. On Easter Eve, believers attend the Easter Vigil. The holiday treats are blessed during this service, which is followed by a procession around the church or through the city. On Sunday, people celebrate with their families, visit each other's homes and greet each other with the words "Christ is risen!" — "Indeed, He is risen!", spreading the Good News. People treat each other to kulich and play Easter games. One such game is egg fight: tapping two eggs together to find out which one is stronger. The person whose egg doesn't crack wins and is believed to earn good luck for the next year. In towns and villages, large festivities are organized, including fairs, workshops, contests and circle dances.
