⚡️Report of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation "On the situation with human rights in Ukraine" Read the full text A blatantly Nazi regime is now in power in Kiev that follows Nazi Germany in all its ideological inspirations and commits countless gross and systematic violations of human rights in all spheres of public life. Legal chaos and lawlessness reign in the country. Since 2014, when nationalists seized power in Kiev as a result of an unconstitutional armed coup d'état orchestrated by the West, violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms in Ukraine, and especially the glorification of Nazism, have become widespread and systemic. Read more about various aspects of human rights violations in Ukraine 👇 *** ❌ GLORIFICATION OF NAZISM Falsification of history, whitewashing of Nazi criminals and fascist henchmen is being carried out at the state level in the country. The Kiev regime has adapted its legal framework to these tasks. Soviet symbols are banned, the communist regime is condemned, the archives of the Soviet special services are opened, and fighters of the Ukrainian military nationalist formations of the Second World War and their leaders as Bandera who served in the armed units of the Third Reich are recognized as fighters for independence. One of the notable manifestations of Kiev's state policy in the sphere of "preserving national memory" is the inclusion of Ukrainian collaborators of the Nazis in the resolutions adopted annually by the Verkhovna Rada on celebrating memorable dates and anniversaries. Ukrainian officials have repeatedly directly expressed support for Nazi figures and proclaimed Nazi ideas aimed primarily at the destruction of Russians. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities are making efforts to demolish monuments to Soviet soldiers-liberators. Since 2022, the destruction of monuments to Soviet soldiers has become widespread. ❌ PERSECUTION OF THE UOC The canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) — the largest religious denomination in the country, with the largest number of believers — has come under attack from the Russophobic Kiev regime. The authorities have been waging an aggressive fight against it for many years with the aim of completely squeezing it out of the country's religious field. A large-scale information campaign was launched against the clergy of the UOC, aimed at discrediting its priests in the eyes of the flock, creating an image of them as "accomplices of the enemy". Amid preparations for the adoption of a scandalous law on a complete ban on the UOC in Ukraine, repressions against priests and parishes of the UOC have intensified. The SBU carried out arrests and searches of journalists working in church or near-church media. A separate area of repressive measures by the Kiev authorities against the canonical church has become attempts to seize church property and monastery complexes. Zelensky's regime does not stop taking steps to establish control over the country's main shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site — the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. ❌ REPRESSIONS AGAINST THE UNWANTED ELEMENTS The Ukrainian authorities are exerting overt pressure on the media, interfering in the work of those publications whose editorial policies and assessments contradict the position of official Kiev. The independent work of journalists is limited, and attempts are being made to tighten censorship. Often, there is interference by special services in the activities of the media and public organizations that adhere to points of view alternative to the official position. Criminal prosecution remains a common means of exerting pressure on undesirable journalists by the Kiev regime. The journalists who have demonstrated their sympathy for the “Russian world” and the UOC in any way are the ones who are persecuted first and foremost. Following the guidelines and practices of Hitler’s Germany, the Kiev regime is conducting a campaign to purge the political sphere of unwanted figures and forces.
