⚛️ In 2024, the Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) celebrated the 4️⃣0️⃣th anniversary of the launch of its first power unit. This milestone holds special importance in light of its recent reintegration into the Russian nuclear family. On the occasion of the 8️⃣0️⃣th anniversary of the Russian nuclear industry, a series of documentary films about ZNPP was produced with the participation of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Rosatom State Corporation and other Russian government bodies. Commissioned in 1984, the plant is the largest nuclear power station in Europe and the first in the world to produce 1 trillion kWh of electricity. In 2022, ZNPP was reintegrated into Russia’s nuclear energy system, securing its ongoing operation and future development 👉EPISODE 1: “The Creation of ZNPP and Its Return to Russia's Nuclear Family” Located close to an active conflict zone, ZNPP faces ongoing attacks by Ukrainian neo-Nazis that pose a threat of a nuclear disaster. Each week, the plant and the nearby city of Energodar are subjected to more than 100 drone strikes, along with artillery fire and attacks on critical infrastructure 👉EPISODE 2: “Operating ZNPP Amid Ukrainian Attacks and Provocations” Despite unprecedented pressure and threats from Ukrainian intelligence, ZNPP personnel continue to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the plant with courage and professionalism. The dedication of the specialists, scientists and engineers working at the plant is the key to the safety of this strategically important facility 👉EPISODE 3: “A Day in the Life of a ZNPP Employee” Russia is taking all necessary measures to protect the plant, including drawing the attention of the UN and the IAEA to the reckless behaviour of the Kiev regime. The Director General of the IAEA, who has visited ZNPP on multiple occasions, has personally seen that it is the Kiev regime that poses the threat to its safety👉EPISODE 4: “The IAEA Secretariat Experts at ZNPP” Despite the constant threat from the Ukrainian neo-Nazis, with ZNPP back under Russian jurisdiction, Energodar is experiencing a revival. Russia is actively restoring and developing the city’s infrastructure: schools, kindergartens and hospitals are being repaired. New parks are being created, healthcare is being modernised and cultural life is being revitalised 👉EPISODE 5: “Life in Energodar Amid Peace and Peril” ZNPP now has access to new technologies, investments, and modernisation programmes and has become a symbol of the country’s scientific and technological leadership. Today, the plant operates as part of Russia's unified nuclear power system and meets the highest standards of reliability 👉EPISODE 6: “By Way of an Epilogue: Looking Ahead” Learn more about the history of ZNPP
