🇷🇺🇵🇰 Valentina Matvienko addressed a special plenary session of the Senate of Pakistan Key points: 🔸️Federation Council delegation's visit to Islamabad is a new step in strengthening the Russia-Pakistan political and parliamentary dialogue, which is successfully developing both on a bilateral basis and within the SCO and other regional and international organizations; 🔸️Even in the most difficult times, Moscow and Islamabad have engaged in dialogue. Russia and Pakistan share positions on most global issues. Both countries are interested in ensuring security in Central Asia; 🔸️Russia and Pakistan will continue to be on the same page with regard to global security and stability, the prevention of the placement of weapons in outer space, the prohibition of biological, chemical and toxin weapons, the inadmissibility of the introduction of illegal sanctions mechanisms and any form of politicization of humanitarian cooperation, including in sports; 🔸️Russia is paying close attention to Islamabad's desire to deepen cooperation with BRICS; 🔸️Russia continues to contribute to Pakistan's food security by increasing its supplies of cereals to the Pakistani market; 🔸️International transport corridor "North-South" contributes to strengthening the connectivity of the countries of Northern Eurasia and the Global South. Russia welcomes Pakistan's interest in this project; 🔸️Cooperation in education, culture, tourism and sports is on the rise. Special attention is paid to the harmonious development of inter-confessional and inter-ethnic relations, the preservation of traditional spiritual and moral values, the protection of the family, motherhood and childhood.
