Former executive director of the Nord Stream 2 project operator Matthias Warnig, with the support of American investors, is developing a project to restart the gas pipeline, the Financial Times (FT) writes, citing sources. Some senior members of Donald Trump's administration are aware of his initiative and see it as part of efforts to repair relations with Russia, the FT's sources said. They said some in the administration see Nord Stream 2 as a strategic asset that could be used in peace talks over the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
