О связи национального архетипа и стиля ведения войн: [Aries] admire their own best characteristics above all others: strength and energy. Thus they make fine soldiers, quick, enterprising, and fearless. But they rarely make good staff officers; their impulsiveness and the joy of coming to grips with the enemy can spoil their best plans. Persistent defence is the best weapon against military Aries for they soon tire and have small reserves. The German nation as such comes under Aries and if you study their history you will find that their character has not changed too much since the days of Tacitus. Most of the wars between Germans and Romans took the same course: a wild German attack, great German victories—then stagnation in front of persistent and stubborn defence—and finally defeat. And as we remember, the two great world wars in the twentieth century took exactly the same course. Louis de Wohl, The Stars of War and Peace
