Who even decided these were “Wonders”? 🤷♀️🤷♂️ Like seriously — who sat down and said: “This one’s a wonder… and that one’s just regular stone”? Truth is — no one officially voted or held a world summit to pick them. The list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World was more of a cultural vibe than a formal decision. 🏛So who made the list? It came together during the Hellenistic era (around the 4th–2nd century BC), when Greek travelers, poets, and scholars were exploring the world and going, “Whoa… that’s amazing!” Writers like: • Philo of Byzantium • Antipater of Sidon • And even Herodotus (who didn’t make a list, but definitely inspired them) …created different versions of their top wonders — and over time, one “official” version stuck. 🤔Why seven? Because back then, 7 was seen as the perfect number: Seven planets (as they knew them), seven days, seven notes, seven vibes. So... seven wonders. Felt right. 🎯Were there criteria? Not exactly — but the picks usually had: • Insane size • Mind-blowing engineering • Beautiful design • Cultural impact • And that “WOW” factor travelers couldn’t stop talking about So really, the Seven Wonders were chosen by pure awe — and maybe a touch of ancient Greek marketing. 😉
