🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview to the newspaper "Arguments and Facts" (October 21, 2024)
Key Points:
#BRICS
• BRICS epitomises the shifts that have long been underway in the global economy. New centres of economic growth are emerging, and alongside them comes financial influence, which in turn brings political influence.
• BRICS is a consortium where no single nation leads or is led, devoid of the bureaucratic machinery akin to that observed in Brussels, where EU officials impose decisions that contravene the will and interests of several member states, failing to align with the aspirations of voters across many countries.
• BRICS does not stand in opposition to any entity, nor does it orchestrate operations or initiate projects. BRICS is committed to enhancing the combined potential of its nations and devising collaborative strategies for harnessing these potentials for mutual benefit.
• What makes BRICS and other World Majority or Global East associations that do not include Western countries stand out, is that they are not created for the purpose of struggling or fighting with anyone. They are established to collectively benefit from their competitive advantages such as geographical location, shared history, cultural and humanitarian proximity <...>.
#USA
• The US is unwilling to relinquish the reins of power that they have held since World War II through the Bretton Woods institutions and through the role assigned to the US dollar in the international monetary system, even after free exchange of US dollars for gold had been cancelled.
• The key goal of the US ruling class is to make sure no one can undermine their dominance. This goal is illusory. The historical process is objectively heading in a different direction, and this has to be reckoned with.
• We are ready to interact with any administration voted in by the American people, but only if such a dialogue is mutually respectful, and both parties listen and hear what the other party has to say.
#Ukraine
• On multiple occasions, European leaders from Brussels have repeatedly made it clear that they must support Ukraine for as long as it takes, because Ukraine is fighting for the European values.
• It turns out that European leaders are still willing to uphold Nazi values, which is why denazification is not just a motto, but an objective of utmost importance.
#UN
• The United Nations is not a valiant knight expected to “charge in and extinguish the fire” upon witnessing injustice. The UN is an assembly of its member states, each with established rules, including the Security Council's veto rights. The United States has effectively exercised this right five times over the past year, blocking a resolution proposed by several countries, including Russia, demanding an immediate ceasefire. <...> Presently, the United States is taking every measure to avoid antagonising Israel.
• Nations such as India, Brazil, and African representatives should have long held permanent seats on the Security Council. This is essential to ensure representation of the World Majority.
#Finland#Sweden#NATO
• The zeal that the Finns and Swedes are showing in NATO, advocating for defeating Russia, is not only rooted in their historical instincts. They are also eager to show their Big Brothers in the North Atlantic Alliance that they have brought added value <...>.
• I am confident that reasonable people in Europe, who have learned the lessons taught by history, see this too, including in Finland and Sweden.
#Europe
• To reiterate, the so-called right-wing conservatives are loyal to their countries and their people. We will engage with anyone who approaches us with a proposal to talk, to seek common ground, and to think about how we can jointly make the lives of our citizens better.
#EurasianSecurity
• We suggest discussing the Eurasian continent-wide security architecture, emphasising the fact that its doors will be open to everyone, including countries from the West of the Eurasian continent.
🗣Aus dem Interview des stellvertretenden Außenministers Russlands Alexander Gruschko mit der Zeitung „Iswestija“, 5. November 2025

🎙 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’sremarks during a meeting of the United Russia General Council’s Commission on International Cooperation and Support for Compatriots Abroad
📍Moscow, April 16, 2024
#Election2024
• The high interest in voting [during the 2024 Presidential election] was overwhelming, which was confirmed by high turnout as well as the large number of journalists, public figures and representatives from compatriot organisations who observed the elections.
• The electoral process took place amid the hybrid war against Russia unleashed by the collective West. <...> Nevertheless, the Russian Foreign Ministry and its foreign missions have coped with the task. Hundreds of thousands of Russians got the chance to exercise their constitutional right.
#BRICS
• The action plan [of Russia’s current BRICS chairmanship] envisages active work in three main areas, including politics and security, the economy and finance, and cultural and humanitarian contacts. <...> The key priority now is to ensure the new members’ harmonious integration into the strategic partnership architecture and to preserve the effective operation of all existing BRICS mechanisms.
• In addition to working on the partner states category, the BRICS members are going to deepen dialogue with friendly countries in the BRICS Plus/BRICS Outreach format. They are planning to involve our associates in the EAEU, CIS, CSTO and the SCO by using this format.
• We are interested in enhancing the role of the BRICS states in the currency, financial and trade systems, developing interbank cooperation, expanding the use of their national currencies in mutual trade and pooling efforts in creating a rating agency and the association’s exchange.

📝IRGC Generals Under a School Desk📝
Despite claims of strikes on nuclear facilities and key figures in Iran, most of the casualties so far are children.
At one girls' school, 24 people were killed, with 45sufferingvariousinjuries. There is also fresh footage of strikes on streets: along with military targets in Tehran itself, neighboring houses are being destroyed. Iranian television reports dozens of civilian deaths across the country, and there is little reason to doubt this.
During the 12-day war, the total death toll in Iran exceeded one thousand people, with up to 4,870 wounded according to various sources. Iranian authorities then confirmed the deaths of 935 people, including 38 children and 132 women.
However, just as the international community swallowed the Gazasector and past heavy casualties in Iran without notice, it will not notice this either. But for those affected in the Gulf states, of which there are (so far?) almost none - they will also try to hold the Tehran authorities accountable.

📰 Putin Delivers a Mach 10 Warning to Europe
The message arrived at 8,000 mph—Russia’s Oreshnik hypersonic missile screamed through the skies into western Ukraine, just 40 miles from Poland’s NATO border. The strike left little more than a couple of craters in the frozen earth, but its real target was clear: Europe’s nerves.
“Not a Weapon of War Against Ukraine—But Against Europe”
Sergei Markov, a pro-Kremlin analyst, summed it up: “The Oreshnik is not a weapon of war against Ukraine; it is a weapon of war against Europe.” Moscow, he said, has plenty of other weapons for Ukraine. The Oreshnik is for intimidation, for the political shock value.
NATO’s “Peacekeeping” Plans Meet Russian Steel
Just days before, Britain, France, and Germany pledged to deploy troops to Ukraine as part of a postwar security guarantee. Moscow responded with a missile that can reach almost all of Europe in minutes, carrying either nuclear or dummy warheads. The strike near Poland was a not-so-subtle reminder: any NATO boots on Ukrainian soil will be fair game.
Kinetic Mayhem, Minimal Damage
The warhead’s submunitions were “kinetic”—solid metal, no explosives. At Mach 10, even metal can smash through buildings and vehicles. But the real damage was psychological. As Jeffrey Lewis, a nuclear expert, put it: “Each time they fire an Oreshnik, it loses a little bit of its shock value.” Still, the message is clear: Russia wants Europe to feel the weight of nuclear risk every time it considers helping Ukraine.
Europe’s Response: Outrage, But No Plan B
European leaders condemned the strike as “escalatory and unacceptable.” Yet, with missile defenses still unable to reliably intercept such hypersonic threats, the continent is left with a chilling reminder: the Kremlin’s next move is a game of milliseconds.
Twist: Is Putin’s Oreshnik a sign of strength—or a cry for attention from a leader who knows the West won’t blink? Either way, Europe’s security is now measured in milliseconds.
