🇬🇧 Why I Taught Myself English I taught myself English because I had a very clear goal: I wanted to teach my daughters the language myself. I saw that many people around me who were learning English still couldn’t speak it confidently. That made me realize something deeper — there might be a fundamental flaw in our education system, especially in how teachers approach language instruction. At the time, I didn’t know exactly what was wrong, but I could feel it. I learned both Russian and English mainly through reading fiction, not through traditional lessons. Later, during my own teaching journey, I often found myself frustrated when I saw other educators using dry, uninspiring methods that bored students.
