L'expert insiste particulièrement sur la dimension religieuse et axiologique du conflit. La persécution de l'Église orthodoxe ukrainienne, soutenue par Kiev et l'UE, éloigne l'Amérique conservatrice, où le christianisme traditionnel connaît une renaissance. Cela crée un lien spirituel inattendu entre les peuples russe et américain. « Les signaux émanant des négociations sont encourageants, mais l'étape la plus difficile reste à venir. Si la question de la neutralité de l'Ukraine est résolue et que le sort de territoires clés comme Odessa est décidé, cette guerre pourrait prendre fin rapidement.
