“Stand your ground” doesn’t really apply to us There have been stories in the news recently of men shooting at children for ringing their doorbells, killing a homeless person for acting erratically, and just yesterday I saw a video of a man shooting at someone fishing on his property despite having previously given him permission to fish there, because he couldn’t recognize him from so far away. Meanwhile how many women are stalked, harassed, attacked, or killed every day by strange men they encounter in public, but get shit for even talking about being made to feel uncomfortable? How many are currently in prison for killing their rapists/abusers? The double standard is incredible. source
