Handover 🀝 keynote from former one health Club secretary. As I reflect on my tenure as the Secretary of the Addis Ababa University One Health Club for the year 2016 E.C., I am filled with gratitude for the enriching experiences and valuable lessons learned. This past year has been truly transformative as I delved into the intricacies of One Health, deepening my understanding of its implementation within our community. I had the privilege of connecting with esteemed experts and academicians who share a common concern for the interlinked health of humans, animals, and the environment, fostering a network of like-minded individuals dedicated to this cause. Assuming the role of Secretary has been a catalyst for personal growth, allowing me to hone my skills in document preparation, promotional writing, poster design, and event concept development. It is through shouldering responsibilities that we acquire practical knowledge and expertise, and I am grateful for the platform this position provided for my professional development. Central to our endeavors has been the spirit of teamwork, inherent in the essence of the One Health concept itself. I commend my esteemed colleagues, President Lemi Erana, Finance Officer Mieraf Tewelde, and Vice President Tamirat Go, for their unwavering dedication and resilience in overcoming challenges, which has forged us into a cohesive and formidable team. Over the course of this year, we have achieved significant milestones, including the successful organization of three online webinars, knowledge-sharing initiatives with universities, and a fruitful collaboration with the Kyeema Foundation to raise awareness about One Health. As we pass the baton to our successors this week, I extend my heartfelt best wishes to them. We stand ready to offer our support and share our experiences to facilitate a seamless transition. I express my profound gratitude to Addis Ababa University College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture, my dedicated team members, and the generous support of the Kyeema Foundation. A special acknowledgment goes out to Dr. Tilaye, Dr. Yimesgen, Mulusew (from Jimma University), Abebe, Layla (from Haremaya University), Dr. Bruk (from Gonder University), and Dr. Tadiyos (Kyeema Foundation), Dr. Hanna (SPANA Ethiopia) Sewagegnehu (from UoG) for their invaluable guidance and assistance when needed. Together, we can continue to make a meaningful impact in advancing the principles of One Health. Thank you. Yared E.
