Since I keep repeating the same feedback, I decided to create this post to share with everyone who asks. 🔍 Let’s break down a poorly optimized profile from a client’s perspective (yes, I also hire on Upwork): 👤 Profile Picture ➡️ Use a clear, smiling photo that shows most of your face. First impressions matter. 🎯 Profile Title ➡️ Be specific. Avoid generic titles like "PHP Developer". ✅ Better: "WordPress Theme & Plugin Developer | PHP Developer" This tells clients exactly what service you provide and helps them decide to click your profile. 📝 Profile Description ➡️ Start with the services you offer, not "I am this/I am that". Your first two lines appear in search make them count! 📂 Specialized Profiles ➡️ Keep them within your core niche. Wrong: WordPress + Video Editing + Digital Marketing Right: WordPress Theme Developer WordPress Plugin Developer WordPress Security Expert Otherwise, you look like a jack of all trades, master of none. 💡 Important Note Even the best profile won’t help if your proposal is weak. ✔️ Focus on writing custom, relevant proposals ✔️ Be proactive don’t just wait for invites
