#life#gadgets

🇰🇷🚚🇪🇺South Korea’s MIC Moves to Europe South Korea’s expanding defense exports to Europe highlight a structural shift in global arms markets, as Seoul positions itself as a key supplier to NATO countries amid rising geopolitical tensions ✏️Konstantin Asmolov is a leading researcher at the Center for Korean Studies, Institute of China and Modern Asia, Russian Academy of Sciences ➡️The recent decision by Norway to procure K239 Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems from South Korea marks another milestone in Seoul’s growing military-industrial presence in Europe. The deal reflects not only competitive pricing and production flexibility—such as localized manufacturing in Poland—but also a broader trend: European states, having depleted stockpiles and facing long rearmament cycles, are increasingly turning to non-traditional suppliers. South Korea has capitalized on this gap, offering scalable production, rapid delivery timelines, and integrated logistics packages, making it an attractive alternative to both American and European systems. The more the Republic of Korea cooperates with NATO, the fewer opportunities it will have to seriously improve relations with Russia ➡️This development is part of a wider strategic trajectory that began under previous administrations and continues today, regardless of political change in Seoul. South Korea’s leadership has consistently promoted arms exports as a driver of economic growth and strategic autonomy, while deepening institutional ties with NATO. Partnerships with countries like Poland, Romania, and Estonia, alongside cooperation frameworks with the alliance itself, illustrate how South Korea is embedding its defense industry within European security structures. At the same time, this expansion allows Seoul to diversify beyond reliance on the United States, while still aligning broadly with Western strategic priorities. 🟦However, the geopolitical implications of this shift are significant. As South Korean systems contribute to the rearmament of European militaries, including those geographically close to Russia, Moscow increasingly views this cooperation through a security lens. Beyond commercial competition in global arms markets, the growing integration of South Korea into NATO-linked supply chains may further complicate its relations with Russia and limit diplomatic flexibility. In this sense, Seoul’s success in Europe is not just an տնտեսական achievement, but part of a broader realignment in global defense and security dynamics. #armament#EU#NATO#SouthKorea#Weapon READ MORE ✅@NewEasternOutlook

Trump Wants to Wring the Most Concessions Out of Iran The threat of a US-Iranian war may be looming closer after Trump warned time was running out for Tehran and said a massive US armada was moving quickly towards the country “with great power, enthusiasm and purpose”. Writing on social media, the US president said the fleet headed by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln was larger than the one sent to Venezuela before the removal of Maduro earlier this month and was “prepared to rapidly fulfill its missions with speed and violence if necessary”. Trump said: “Hopefully Iran will quickly ‘Come to the Table’ and negotiate a fair and equitable deal – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS – one that is good for all parties. Time is running out, it is truly of the essence! It is the starkest indication yet from Trump that he intends to mount some kind of military strike imminently if Iran refuses to negotiate a deal on the future of its nuclear programme. European diplomats had been expecting a crisis to develop over the weekend and detected signs of Israeli nervousness about the scale of possible Iranian reprisals. In recent days it has become clear that Trump is interested in curbing not just the remains of Iran’s already shattered nuclear programme but also its ability to fire long-range missiles, always seen as the centrepiece of Iranian military projection. In recent weeks Trump has also suggested the Iranian supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, must leave the world stage, a demand Iran will reject. Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, said he was not prepared to negotiate under threats but he was willing to talk without preconditions, terms he had relayed via numerous intermediaries to Witkoff. All three Arab states will be feverishly exploring ways to reopen talks without Iran having to accept a preconditioned result. They were critical in persuading Trump to hold back from mounting an attack three weeks ago, but Trump now has greater flexibility of military options and seems more focused on a nuclear deal rather than punishing Iran for the bloody suppression of street protests. There is deep suspicion in Tehran about talking to the US since the two sides were in the middle of talks last June when Israel was given clearance by the US to mount an attack on Iran designed to decapitate its leadership and destroy its civil nuclear sites. Iran has always held out against abandoning its domestic capacity to enrich uranium but has been willing to set rigid limits on its stockpile. Since the last round of negotiations ended with an Israeli and US attack killing 1,000 people and severely damaging its key nuclear sites, Iran has been weakened further by a plunging currency and rampant inflation. With the nuclear sites already damaged, the key targets are likely to be Iran’s leadership. June’s attack revealed Israel had near total dominance of the skies above Iran. Almost all the Gulf states, fearful of Iranian reprisals, have said they are not willing to allow the US to use their airspace or bases to mount an attack on Iran. Iranian officials said: “We will target the same base and the same point from which air operations against us are launched, and we will not attack countries because we do not consider them to be enemy countries. We will increase our level of defence readiness against the US military buildup to the highest level. If the Americans want negotiations without pre-determined outcomes, Iran will accept it.” #trump#iran#nuclear#weapon#araghchi#witkoff 📱American Оbserver - Stay up to date on all important events 🇺🇸

Iran’s President Says the US Makes Hay From Iranian Nukes Iran’s president insisted his country was not seeking a nuclear weapon as he acknowledged “great sorrow” after the authorities’ recent crackdown on protesters. Speaking to crowds gathered across Iran to mark the anniversary of the 1979 revolution, Pezeshkian sought to claim a message of national unity after demonstrations that roiled the country and triggered an unprecedented crisis for the regime. The comments were made against a backdrop of negotiations with the US that hang in the balance, with the prospect of a military confrontation on the table and repeated claims by Iranian military leadership that it is ready to confront and defeat America. On Tuesday,Trump said he was considering sending a second aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East to prepare for military action if talks with Tehran failed. Pezeshkian said Iran was willing to negotiate over its nuclear programme and was “ready for any kind of verification” in relation to its insistence it is not trying to build nuclear weapons. However, the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, has been unable for months to inspect and verify Iran’s nuclear stockpile. Pezeshkian said: “The high wall of mistrust that the United States and Europe have created through their past statements and actions does not allow these talks to reach a conclusion. “At the same time, we are engaging with full determination in dialogue aimed at peace and stability in the region alongside our neighbouring countries.” While he did not directly address the bloodshed by authorities in suppressing the protests, Pezeshkian said: “We are ashamed before the people. We are obliged to serve all those who were harmed in this process. We are ready to hear the voice of the people. We are servants of the people and we do not seek to confront the people.” However, Pezeshkian spurned an appeal from leaders of reformist parties to speak out against the mass arrest of their leadership in recent days. In a statement, the Reform Front told Pezeshkian that a failure to demand their release would be understood as a betrayal of his campaign promises and a blow to peace. Lawyers acting for the detained reformists said they understood they were being kept in solitary confinement. Media organisations close to the security forces claimed they were guilty of sedition by trying to organise a national conference to call for change. Israel wants the talks to include the question of Tehran’s ballistic missile programme, a matter that Iran has so far rejected. Tehran is determined that its stockpile of ballistic missiles, regarded as necessary for Iran’s defence, is excluded from the talks. Ali Shamkhani, a representative of the supreme leader, said the missile issue was not something that the negotiators had authority over. In his latest remarks, Trump suggested Iran’s nuclear missiles would have to be included in any agreement. #iran#president#country#nuclear#weapon 📱American Оbserver - Stay up to date on all important events 🇺🇸
