Bolivia: fine dell’era socialista, inizia il ciclo di Rodrigo Paz Il ballottaggio presidenziale del 19 ottobre ha consegnato la vittoria a Rodrigo Paz Pereira, candidato del Partido Demócrata Cristiano, con oltre il 54% dei voti. Si chiude così un capitolo lungo quasi vent’anni di governi del Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS), che avevano visto succedersi Evo Morales e Luis Arce alla guida del “proceso de cambio”. Il nuovo presidente entrerà in carica l’8 novembre, dopo che Arce ha riconosciuto il risultato e promesso una transizione pacifica. Tuttavia, la svolta politica è profonda: la destra torna al potere in un Paese che aveva costruito un modello basato su redistribuzione, controllo pubblico delle risorse e cooperazione latinoamericana. A livello regionale, la prima conseguenza è già arrivata: la sospensione della Bolivia dall’ALBA, decisa dai governi membri del blocco per la “postura antibolivariana e proimperialista” del presidente eletto. Una frattura che segna l’allontanamento di La Paz dall’asse progressista latinoamericano e apre a un possibile riallineamento con gli Stati Uniti e gli organismi finanziari internazionali. ✊ Intanto, i movimenti sociali e le organizzazioni indigene promettono resistenza, decisi a difendere le conquiste sociali ottenute negli ultimi due decenni.
