Nellie Bly was a journalist who wanted to travel around the world faster than the time in the book Around the World in Eighty Days by Jules Verne. In 1889, she started her trip alone. She used trains, ships, and other transportation to move quickly. During her journey, she met Jules Verne, the writer of the book. Nellie did not know she was racing another reporter, Elizabeth Bisland, who was also trying to travel around the world fast. Nellie finished her trip in 72 days, arriving back in New York on January 25, 1890, beating the 80 days in the book. Elizabeth Bisland completed her journey in about 76 days, arriving on January 30, 1890. Both women traveled alone and showed bravery and speed on their remarkable journeys, especially at a time when it was unusual for women to travel solo. 🌍🚂⛴️🕒 [Read more] @googlefactss #NellieBly#ElizabethBisland#JulesVerne#AroundTheWorld#RecordBreaking#History#Travel
