Я таки упросил VK включить мне новый дизайн (спасибо).
Иронично, что его включили куче моих друзей: тем, кто не ведёт страницу, тем, кому пофиг, и даже тем, кто ненавидит редизайны. А мне не включили сразу, хотя я люблю редизайны и веду в VK блог.
Ну, минус в том, что это опять калька с Фейсбука. Конечно плохо: у ребят из ВК точно много своих идей, непонятно, почему до сих пор копируется с FB, который прям очень очень плох по визуалу и удобству, почти худший крупный сервис в современном интернете.
Тем не менее, конкретно обложка для профилей мне понравилась на Фейсбуке ещё 10 лет назад, когда я её впервые увидел. И очень хорошо, что VK сейчас сделал акцент на контенте. Не знаю, обозначает ли это начало каких-то более масштабных изменений, чтобы возродить текстовые блоги (кажется, их потенциальную аудиторию из ВК прогнали почти всю). Есть предположение, что визуальным изменением профилей всё и закончится, а ленты всё так же будут забиты пабликами, и взрослые люди, включая сотрудников самого ВК, всё так же будут постить и комментировать в Instagram/Telegram.
Конкретно тут я бы убрал нафиг блок с подарками — не нужен. "Подписчики" теперь смешаны с друзьями, это сбивает, хотя привычная концепция друзей в соцсетях давно умерла. А вот в блоке "подписки" ставил бы индивидуальных авторов выше, чем паблики. Ну и, конечно же, отовсюду удалять "Клипы" обязательно.

Любимые Velvetyne представили подсайт с дружественными open source шрифтовыми студиями
О многих из них я писал в рамках #oss, но нового там тоже достаточно.
Очень воодушевляет их подход к распространению, что они именуют как «libre typography».
