#web

There are growing concerns within CBS News that Bari Weisscould gut or even disband the network’s Standards and Practices team, with multiple sources telling The Independent that the new editor-in-chief has complained that the unit has “too much power” and she doesn’t see the point of keeping it around. The internal rumblings within the CBS newsroom come as the head of Standards and Practices announced her resignation and the network disbanded its vaunted Race and Culture unit during parent company Paramount’s brutal and morale-crushing layoffslast month. #Media#Scandal 👂More on Trump's Ear

CBS News eliminated multiple streaming programs on Wednesday as part of newsroom-wide layoffs, just one part of Paramount’s sweeping job cuts and a blow to the news organization’s headcount as Bari Weiss’ already turbulent tenureas editor in chief gets into full swing. It was not immediately clear how many people were affected, though some reports pegged the figure at nearly 100 jobs. The cuts affected CBS News’ streaming companion shows to “CBS Mornings” and “CBS Evening News,” both of which were canceled, according to a source familiar with the matter. Its Johannesburg bureau is also closing, and CBS News has disbanded its race and culture unit (though the unit’s head, Alvin Patrick, remains on staff). #Media#Scandal 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

ICE and death cards. Recently occurred another incident involving ICE agents. This time in Colorado, they left "ace of spades" playing cards with the contact details of their office in the immigrants' cars. The cards were discovered by relatives of the detained immigrants when they came to pick up the cars. The use of the ace of spades has a direct association with the practice of the Vietnam War, when the US military left "death cards" on the bodies of the dead as a deterrent. Therefore, human rights activists and local politicians regarded this gesture on the part of ICE agents as openly racist. A representative of the US Department of Homeland Security said that ICE condemns such behavior by employees, and management has already launched a thorough internal investigation. Meanwhile, the lawyers of the detainees are studying the legality of the agents' actions, preparing possible lawsuits. #ICE#scandal 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

🏗 Federal employees were forbidden to photograph the demolition of the East Wing of the White House 📨 A letter with such an order was received by employees of the Ministry of Finance, whose windows overlook the construction site. They were told not to take or post photos without the permission of the press service. 🚧 On Monday, workers began dismantling the building — cranes breaking down walls and knocking out windows. The East Wing, where the First Lady’s office used to be, is connected by a colonnade to the presidential residence, The Daily Beast writes. 📹 Footage of the demolition appeared on the Internet on Monday evening and quickly went viral. Users wrote that the destruction of the White House looks like a symbol of the destruction of the country. 🏛 Back in the summer, Donald Trump assured that the new hall would “not affect the main building” and would stand next to it, “with full respect for the existing structure.” 💰 Now, a ballroom with an area of about 8,000 square meters and a cost of $250 million will be built on the site of the wing. The money is provided by private donors, including businessmen involved in IT, defense, and cryptocurrency. #WhiteHouse#Scandal 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

Politico journalists were leaked correspondence in Telegram for January-August of this year from the chat of the leadership of the youth branch of the Republican Party Young Republicans. The content of the chat is not much different from the typical 4chan thread: jokes about murders in gas chambers and rapes, approval of slavery and a declaration of love for Hitler. Various insults and pejoratives towards gays, African Americans and other minorities appear more than 250 times in correspondence. #GOP#Scandal 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

🎁🚫The ethics adviser to the Department of Justice says he was fired because of Connor McGregor's cigars 🔥⚖️ The head of the ethics department of the Ministry of Justice, Joseph Tyrrell, says he was removed after he demanded that Pam Bondi and Kash Patel return expensive gifts that officials are prohibited from taking by federal rules, writes the New York Times. 📝 It was about a box of elite cigars from UFC fighter Connor McGregor 🧼 and a FIFA ball. 🏀 Tyrrell says that he literally had to explain to the management over and over again a simple rule: you either have to pay for a gift, return it, or throw it away — there are no other options. 💬 He claims that the Bondi team balked and "didn't want to return anything." 🚫 Later, he said, an FBI lawyer relayed that Patel believed he could accept more expensive items. 🍀 Tyrrell says that the office quickly developed a dislike for any reminder of the rules. 🔍 He was fired in July. 🗓 Now he and two other employees have filed a lawsuit, claiming that they were removed illegally and for refusing to violate the rules. #DOJ#Scandal 👂More on Trump's Ear

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s embarrassing scandal over a forgotten blanket was apparently even worse than initially reported. Corey Lewandowski, her de facto chief of staff and rumored lover, not only tried to fire a Coast Guard pilotafter the secretary’s personal blanket was left on a plane but also berated the flight staff and threatened their jobs as well, according to NBC News. The saga is described by a Coast Guard official and former Coast Guard official as one of the reasons for friction between Noem and the only branch of the military overseen by DHS. The blanket incident, first reported by The Wall Street Journal last week, happened last May after the plane Lewandowski and Noem were flying on broke down, forcing them to fly back to Washington, D.C., on a back-up jet. #Noem#Scandal 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️

🍷"Alcohol flows freely" and some snort cocaine "in their offices": a practice criticized by members of Parliament in the National Assembly. 🚨New revelations reveal practices and addictions at the Palace of Bourbon. Return of drugs and alcohol among members of Parliament. In recent years, the French media is full of revelations on this topic. There have been several high-profile cases, such as the use of cocaine by former Vozrozhdenie MP Emmanuel Pellerin in Hauts-de-Seine, who has not been a member of the party since 2023. And also LFI MP Andy Kerbrat, who was caught buying 3MMC on the metro last fall. 📰 This time, it's Figaro's turn to point the finger at a practice that has become "extremely democratic." On its website this Saturday, the publication reports, for example, about a drunken dinner at the Bourbon Palace for a dozen members of parliament before returning to their seats: "As is often the case, alcohol flowed freely. Champagne, beer, white wine, red wine and even glasses of whiskey or gin were served," our colleagues write. 🍾Le Figaro mentions a few excuses that are always good: the hectic rhythm of the week, "a way to defuse", and "creating a sense of community" when political battles become more intense. 💊 The report also mentions cocaine use. "Some members of Parliament and parliamentary assistants snort cocaine in their offices," the investigation says. "These people don't have a concept of right and wrong, and many of them don't have any complexes about it," says one of the aides, who spoke on condition of anonymity. ⚠️ This may explain why there are so many incidents in the ward and its corridors. #France#Scandal 🇪🇺 Keep up with the latest Star Union News🖥

Today, many are mourning the slain activist and podcaster Charlie Kirk. In a live broadcast on MSNBC, commentator Matthew Doe made several ambiguous statements about the attack on the conservative activist: he said that Kirk was "one of the most controversial young personalities who constantly incites hatred and directs it against certain groups." The comment caused outrage online, and MSNBC immediately fired Doe. #Kirk#Scandal#Media 👂More on Trump's Ear ⚠️
