Оказывается, акции Ubisoft за прошлый год просели прочти втрое, то есть компания потеряла несколько миллиардов евро капитализации и по слухам ищет, кому себя продать.
Та самая, которая сделала Far Cry, Assassins Creed, Splinter Cell, Rayman, Prince of Persia и несколько других великих серий с множеством не менее успешных сиквелов-триквелов. Пишут, что доход компании приносят в основном старые игры, а всё новое в производственном аду или отменяется.
Несмотря на то, что я истовый фанат тех же ассасинов или например Сэма Фишера, мне не слишком жалко компанию, потому что последние годы она занималась какой-то фигнёй. Ну нельзя настолько исказить любимые игроками концепции и механики и не получить за это расплату по кармическому закону. В последних ассасинов невозможно играть: я покупал в своё время три разные новые части, и каждую бросил через пару часов. Вместо выделения ресурсов на многообещающий Beyond Good and Evil 2 юбики занимаются превращением хорошей серии в невнятные сессионки с повторением одинаковых механик.
Впрочем, даже не знаю, какая из крупных компаний по играм сейчас делает что-то хорошее.
