⚠️ only! (Filthy language!)
The men were calmly ice fishing until, at dawn, an… Arctic nuclear icebreaker, the Arktika, sailed up to them.
🔻The fishermen watched with childlike wonder as the enormous ship headed straight for the tent where their slightly tipsy friend was sleeping.
🔻Luckily, the icebreaker changed course in time, and Lysy (Baldy) in the tent was lucky—it ended without incident.
• Лысый всё проспал!
The bald man slept everything away!

From pancake to "Oops!": the Russian word БЛИН!
🔻Ever noticed Russians exclaiming блин! when they drop something or are surprised? Literally, it means pancake. 🥞
🔻In Russian, блин is one of the most common euphemisms. It's a harmless word used to replace a much stronger, taboo swear word starting with the same sounds.
🔻It's part of a whole family of everyday euphemisms like ёлки-палки (fir-trees sticks). The main goal is to let off steam without using actual profanity.
🔻So, is it a swear word? Not technically. It's a socially acceptable minced oath. You'll hear it everywhere — from friends chatting to sometimes even in casual media. But context is key: while perfectly fine in informal settings, you'd still avoid it in a formal speech or when talking to someone you deeply respect!
🔻Synonyms for БЛИН
🔻Express your negative emotions like a Russian!

That merciless Russian cursive handwriting!
• Шиш
[shysh]
🔻This interjection (or sometimes exclamatory noun) is used to denote a strong, emphatic refusal, denial, or the idea of nothing or you won't get anything.
⚠️It's generally rude or dismissive!
🔻Шиш is a very close synonym of фиг. Both words are used in similar contexts to express negation, refusal, or to refer to the fig sign gesture.
🔻While фиг might be slightly more common and versatile in some everyday expressions, шиш carries a similar dismissive and negative connotation.
