An official response has been issued regarding the video submitted to our channel.
Following the video showing the emergence of an illegal dumpsite in the territory of the “Yangi Hayot” neighborhood in Bostanlyk district, a working group of the Waste Management and Circular Economy Development Agency promptly visited the site and conducted a comprehensive assessment of the situation.
The investigation revealed that the waste had accumulated as a result of disposal by legal entities and individuals in unauthorized locations. Although this area was not included in the current service schedule of sanitation enterprises, the Agency took the necessary measures.
In addition, the Agency’s surveillance and monitoring department has initiated the installation of modern 24/7 surveillance cameras in the area. These cameras will enable the identification and prevention of violations related to illegal waste dumping, as well as the implementation of appropriate legal measures in accordance with the law.
We express our gratitude to public activists who did not remain indifferent and paid attention to environmental cleanliness issues.
Dear citizens,
Responsible behavior towards the environment contributes to the development of ecological culture and the creation of a comfortable living environment. We urge you not to dispose of waste in unauthorized places.
Maintaining cleanliness is a shared responsibility and a reflection of respect for the environment!

Lives of Red Book-listed desert monitors preserved
A resident of Pakhtachi district posted on social media about the sale of desert monitor lizards.
In response, the оперативная группа eco-police of the Samarkand Regional Department of Ecology and Climate Change, together with state inspectors from the Pakhtachi district office, conducted a rapid operation to prevent the violation.
As a result, it was established that a citizen identified as Sh.Y., living in the “Chashma” mahalla, had illegally captured two desert monitor lizards from a steppe area and was keeping them tied up with the intention of selling them. These animals are listed in the Red Data Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The desert monitor inhabits desert and semi-desert areas from the Southern Aral Sea region to the Fergana Valley. Outside Uzbekistan, its subspecies are found in Central Asia, southern Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Iran, Southwest Asia, North Africa, India, and Pakistan. This species mainly lives in plains, but can also be found on the slopes of residual hills up to 1,000 meters above sea level. It prefers stabilized and semi-stabilized sands, clay soils, gravelly terrains, and saline lands.
In nature, desert monitors are relatively rare. In the early 1990s, their total population was estimated at around 45,000 individuals, with about 200 in the Fergana population alone. Population density varies significantly depending on the availability of shelters and food resources. Today, the species has disappeared from many habitats and remains very scarce in others.
The condition of the rescued animals was found to be satisfactory, and they were released back into their natural habitat.
The offender was fined 4,120,000 UZS in accordance with the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Earlier, our channel reported a case of cruel treatment by two individuals towards a desert tortoise listed in the Red Data Book of Uzbekistan.
Following this incident, the Surkhandarya Regional Department of Ecology and Climate Change, together with officers of the internal affairs bodies and the National Guard, conducted оперативe investigation measures.
The investigation revealed that the incident took place in April of this year. The individuals involved were identified as residents of the “Yangikuch” mahalla in Denov district — citizens N.J. and A.S.
During the inquiry, citizen N.J. admitted guilt, stating that the act was committed unknowingly. (However, this raises a question: how can a mentally sound adult harm a living creature “unknowingly”?)
Based on the case, the Denov District Department of Internal Affairs imposed an administrative penalty on N.J. under Article 111 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan. A fine of three base calculation units was issued, amounting to 1,236,000 soums.
The State Committee for Ecology and Climate Change of Uzbekistan reminds that cruelty to animals is strictly prohibited and entails liability in accordance with the law.
