I’m sick of having to argue that “trans women lose their “““biological advantage””” when they start E” as a way to try and overturn the bans in trans women in sport, as if testosterone magically makes you a world-class athlete and estrogen takes it all away. Fuck that. We need to go back to demanding thar sports stop being segregated by gender completely. Also every time this argument comes up, we should ask “so what?”. So what if testosterone does give some advantages? Flexible limbs give some athletes advantages. Good eye sight gives some athletes advantages. High lung capacity fives some athletes advantages. Women with biological advantages take part in athletics all the time and nobody bats an eye as long as they’re cis. #unless they’re woc #in which case their ‘biological advantages’ are also used to harass and disqualify them #but yes #sports are unfair. that’s literally the point. Truuuuuuuuuueeeeeee. It has been said many times before and it is worth saying again: woc are not cis the way white women are. Cisgender is a social category and the place of women of color within that social category is always precarious.
