🇷🇺🇪🇹 On March 19, 2026, Mr. Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, was on a working trip in Addis Ababa as the head of an interagency delegation. During his visit, he was received by H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the FDRE.
Mr. Mikhail Murashko also met with the heads of the Ministry of Health and the regulatory body for food and drug safety, as well as representatives from several other ministries.
🤝The head of the Russian Ministry of Health noted the mutual interest of the two countries in developing co-operation, as well as Addis Ababa’s interest in Russian medical products, including equipment, medicines and nuclear medicine technologies.
☝️ Mr. Mikhail Murashko underlined that Ethiopia is an important partner for Russia on the African continent. One of the key areas in bilateral contacts of the two countries is facilitating the entry of Russian medical product manufacturers into the Ethiopian market, and the Sides are actively working on this.
According to the minister’s assistant Mr. Alexey Kuznetsov, during the visit the Russian delegation paid particular attention to the current state of the project to develop the Russian Red Cross Hospital named after Dejazmach Balcha in Addis Ababa.
💬 “During the visit to Addis Ababa, Mikhail Murashko was familiarised with the work of the hospital, spoke with medical staff and patients, and held a meeting on issues related to infrastructure development and material support,” the minister’s assistant said.
Mr. Kuznetsov also noted that co-operation in medical education was discussed during the visit, under which more than 100 specialists from Ethiopia have already undergone training in Russia.

Ushbu loyiha NGO Center NIHOL va Equality Now tomonidan European Union in Uzbekistan moliyaviy ko’magi bilan amalga oshirilmoqda.
Yig’ilishda fuqarolik jamiyati vakillari ayollar va qizlarga nisbatan jinsiy zo’ravonlikka qarshi kurashda erishilgan hayratlanarli natijalarni namoyish etdilar. NNOlarning norasmiy tarmog’i faoliyatining natijasida qonunchilik jarayonlari takomillashtirildi, davlat statistikasi yig’ish tizimi yaxshilandi va ayollar huquqlarini himoya qilish kuchaytirildi. Ushbu o’zgarishlar O’zbekistonda gender tengligini ilgari surishda muhim ahamiyatga ega.
Ushbu ishni davom ettirishimiz, hamkorligimizni mustahkamlashimiz va har bir ayol himoyalangan, tinglangan va hurmat qilingan jamiyatni birgalikda yaratishimiz zarur.

On October 16-17, the final evaluation meeting was held as part of the project “Strengthening the Role of Civil Society and Building Sustainable Partnerships to Promote Gender Equality in Uzbekistan”, implemented by the NGO Center NIHOL and Equality Now with the financial support of the European Union in Uzbekistan.
The meeting gathered representatives of civil society who demonstrated impressive achievements in the fight against sexualized violence towards women and girls. Thanks to the active work of the informal NGO network, significant successes were achieved, helping to improve legislative processes, enhance the collection of state statistics, and strengthen the protection of women’s rights. These changes are critically important for advancing gender equality in Uzbekistan.
We must continue this work, strengthen our cooperation, and together create a society where every woman is protected, heard, and respected.

16-17 октября прошла финальная оценочная встреча в рамках проекта «Усиление роли гражданского общества и построение устойчивого сотрудничества в продвижении гендерного равенства в Узбекистане», реализуемого NGO Center NIHOL и Equality Now при финансовой поддержке European Union in Uzbekistan.
На встрече собрались представители гражданского общества, которые продемонстрировали впечатляющие достижения в борьбе с сексуализированным насилием по отношению к женщинам и девочкам. Благодаря активной работе неформальной сети ННО, были достигнуты значимые успехи, которые помогли усовершенствовать законодательные процессы, улучшить сбор государственной статистики и усилить защиту прав женщин. Эти изменения критически важны к продвижению гендерного равенства в Узбекистане.
Нужно продолжать эту работу, укреплять наше сотрудничество и вместе создать общество, где каждая женщина будет защищена, услышана и уважаема.
