🇺🇸Apple’s AI News Summaries Pulled After False Headlines Apple has temporarily disabled its AI-powered news summary feature in Apple Intelligence following incidents where the system generated fabricated headlines, including false reports of arrests and deaths. The feature, launched in September with the iPhone 16, aimed to condense multiple notifications into concise summaries but quickly faced backlash from major news outlets, such as the BBC and The Washington Post. The BBC raised concerns as early as December, citing critical factual errors in breaking news summaries and warning that the tool contradicted original reporting, undermining public trust. In response, Apple announced plans to enhance transparency by clearly labeling AI-generated summaries and allowing users more control over the feature. This setback highlights the risks of deploying AI solutions without rigorous testing in sensitive domains like journalism. With trust at stake, companies must prioritize accuracy, accountability, and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure their AI systems uphold professional standards. #AI#Apple#Misinformation#AIEthics

📖Fake Disease Experiment Exposes AI Misinformation Risks Researchers led by Almira Osmanovic Thunström at the University of Gothenburg created a fictional medical condition, “bixonimania,” and supported it with fabricated academic papers uploaded to a preprint server. The experiment aimed to test whether large language models would reproduce false information as credible medical knowledge. AI systems subsequently presented the non-existent disease as real, and the fake studies were later cited in peer-reviewed literature, including a journal published by Springer Nature. The case demonstrates how AI-generated or AI-amplified misinformation can propagate beyond initial sources into scientific and medical contexts. #AIRegulation#AIethics#Misinformation#AIsafety#DigitalHealth

#censorship#misinformation#disinformation#firstamendment Bombshell Congressional Report Outlines Structure of ‘Censorship Industrial Complex’ The House Judiciary Committee released a damning report a week ago proving what we have known all along: that government forces sought to silence and deplatform voices on the right during the 2020 election and beyond, including yours truly. You’ll remember back when O'Keefe was with Project Veritas that James SUED the Election Integrity Project in Washington State, at Stanford and the University of Washington. However, a judge moved to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing that the statements about Veritas are not actionable because they are not factual statements, because they are not capable of being proven true, and because the academic researcher’s statements “lack precision.” The district court concluded that readers of Stanford and the University of Washington’s academic analysis would have expected to encounter analysis that reflected the authors’ “subjective biases,” including “mischaracterizations and exaggerations,” and thus the specific statements that Project Veritas took issue with were not actionable for defamation because they were not “capable of verification or refutation by means of objective proof.” In the judge’s order dismissing our lawsuit, he notes the statement that our video had been “debunked” is incapable of being proven true or false." “A reasonable inference to be drawn from the complaint," Thomas S Zilly, US District Judge ,concluded, "is that readers of the EIP blog post would have had some awareness of the allegedly left-leaning biases of the authors." The most chilling part is, the government has no plans to stop this unconstitutional “Election Integrity Partnership” censoring program. Expect to see more of the same into the new year, when the election really gets underway. @OKeefeMedia

🚀 AI TRENDS | OpenAI to Be Regulated Under EU's Digital Services Act, Sources Say OpenAI is set to be regulated under the European Union's Digital Services Act (DSA), according to sources cited by Handelsblatt. The company will be classified as a very large online search engine under the new regulations. According to Jin10, this classification will subject OpenAI to stricter compliance requirements aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in its operations. The DSA is part of the EU's broader effort to regulate digital services and platforms, enhancing user protection and addressing issues such as misinformation and data privacy. OpenAI's inclusion under this regulatory framework highlights the growing scrutiny of AI technologies and their impact on society. #AI#OpenAI#EU#DigitalServicesAct#DSA#Regulation#TechPolicy#DataPrivacy#Misinformation#Transparency#Accountability
