Representing the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter, Venezuelan diplomat Joaquín Pérez called for Palestine’s full UN membership, an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, an end to US vetoes shielding Israel, and a halt to arms transfers. Caracas also urged accountability for war crimes and proposed a reconstruction plan coordinated with Palestinian authorities.
