I started looking around for places where I feel myself connected with and my interests, and learn about their activities and how I can collaborate with them. I had to be very brave and confident to go around and introduce myself and what I do, if my service is useful or needed. It was a bit difficult for me. I was nervous and thinking about how I was going to do it and from where I'd start, because it is like starting from 0, trying to find everything out, but the important thing is that I started and did what is necessary. Finally, I found my place and I did my first workshop painting on textiles with one of the best-known community service associations, which was established in 1987 for English-speaking people by the U.S. Ambassador's wife, Betty Atherton. It is a multicultural place where families and towns can come and enjoy the full service provided by the community. Such a lovely place and energy. My beloved people ✨🪷🧚🏾 What can I tell you about my arrival in the magical city of Cairo 🙂 I have fallen in love with the city since I was a teenager, especially the ancient history of Egypt. Revisiting the country after so many years, lots have changed, but I still remember all my childhood memories and how I love the cozy places that I used to walk around in the Zamalek and Maadi areas, cozy cafés & ethnic restaurants & bazaars away from the exotic flowers that I can’t get enough of every morning I walk around with Hugo. Business and life, of course, are not that easy as we all know that relocating and looking for a job which can match one’s skills or specialties might take a while to fit in, especially for an entrepreneur like me, working for myself since I was at university. After spending enough time with mom, I immediately began to think about my work and what I can do in the city while I’m here.

In my next post I’ll share with you my first master's class in Cairo and how I took the steps to make it happen. Each country has its own cultural habits and rules. And to adopt the changes, one must be in complete harmony and have an understanding of cultural differences.
