⚡️Russian Foreign Ministry statement in connection with the US strikes on Iran(June 22, 2025)
❗️Russia resolutely condemns the United States’ strikes on several nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran, carried out in the early hours of June 22, following recent attacks by Israel.
This reckless decision to launch missile and aerial strikes on the territory of a sovereign state, regardless of the justifications offered, constitutes a blatant violation of international law, the #UNCharter, and relevant resolutions by the UN Security Council, which has consistently and unequivocally deemed such actions unacceptable. Particularly concerning is the fact that the strikes were executed by a permanent member of the UN Security Council.
☢️ The consequences of this action, including potential radioactive effects, have yet to be determined. However, it is already evident that a dangerous escalation is underway, one that threatens to further destabilise security both in the region and globally. This has drastically increased the likelihood of a larger conflict in the #MiddleEast, a region already plagued by numerous crises.
The attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities have dealt a substantial blow to the global non-proliferation regime built around the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (#NPT), which raises particular concerns. They have significantly undermined both the credibility of the NPT and the integrity of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) monitoring and verification mechanisms that underpin it.
We expect the IAEA leadership to respond promptly, professionally, and transparently, avoiding vague language or efforts to hide behind political ‘equidistance.’ An unbiased and objective report from the Director General is required, to be submitted for consideration at the Agency’s upcoming special session.
Obviously, the UN Security Council must take a firm stance as well. Confrontational and destabilising actions taken by the United States and Israel must be collectively rejected.
☝️We call for an immediate end to aggression and for stepping up efforts to bring the situation back onto a peaceful, diplomatic track.

On the Impact of Western Policies on Global Migration Flows
15 October 2025
🔷 The Russian Embassy draws attention to the growing migration crisis that continues to challenge the stability and security of many regions, including Europe. The root causes of this phenomenon are well known – the reckless and shortsighted interventions of the United States and its NATO allies in sovereign states such as Libya, Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.
🔷 These actions, carried out under the pretext of promoting “democracy,” led to the destruction of national institutions, the rise of terrorism, and the collapse of entire economies. It is precisely this chaos that forced millions to abandon their homes in search of safety and stability.
🔷 At the same time, the United States continues to exert direct influence over the migration policies of the European Union, promoting approaches that ignore the interests of individual nations. The imposed regulatory framework from Brussels, shaped under Washington’s guidance, undermines national economies, fuels social tensions, and creates preconditions for uncontrolled inflows of refugees. Such developments threaten the cultural and demographic balance of European societies.
🔷Russia consistently supports a fair and sustainable solution to migration issues – one that focuses on eliminating the true causes of displacement, rather than shifting responsibility. We advocate collective international efforts, coordinated through the United Nations, to restore stability in the Middle East and North Africa and to assist countries affected by external interference.
🔷 Moscow also reaffirms its principled position in favor of establishing a sovereign and independent State of Palestine in accordance with UN resolutions – as an essential step toward ensuring long-term peace and justice in the region.
🔷 The time has come to recognize that durable stability cannot be achieved through coercion or selective narratives, but only through respect for sovereignty, dialogue, and genuine partnership.

@RusEmbMalta Press Release:
On Combating Contemporary Practices of Neo-Colonialism and Promoting a Fair Multipolar World Order
🔹 Over the past decades, the so-called "rules-based order" promoted by the US and its allies has not brought stability. Instead, it led to growing conflicts and divisions between the West and the Global Majority.
🔹 Military interventions and unilateral sanctions remain instruments of pressure, while promises to developing countries – including climate financing – have not been fulfilled.
🔹 Neo-colonial practices create tensions not only with the Global South, but also within the Western bloc itself. Energy and economic imbalances show the limits of this approach.
🌏Russia’s vision:
– Multipolarity reflects cultural and civilizational diversity.
– New centers of influence – BRICS, SCO, ASEAN, the African Union, CELAC – are shaping a more balanced international system.
– Russia, true to its historic role in supporting decolonization, continues to promote equality, sovereignty and genuine security for all.
✅The way forward:
– Complete the decolonization process – 17 territories still await this step.
– Strengthen international dialogue within the UN Charter framework.
– Unite efforts of the Global Majority for a fairer, more sustainable world order.
🤝 A multipolar world based on justice and equality is not a distant vision – it is becoming reality.

CNN: President Donald Trump is weighing several options for dramatically escalating the war against Iran should his latest push for diplomacy fail.
None of them are ideal.
While the military campaign has heavily focused on bombing the country so far, Pentagon officials preparing for a next phase of war have drawn up scenarios for deploying troops to seize various targets within Iran, according to more than half a dozen people familiar with the discussions.
Yet not only would those scenarios risk heavy casualties, there’s also little guarantee they would successfully end the conflict.
The internal game-planning has taken on growing importance as Trump plots the next stage of his Middle East campaign — and as economic and political pressure builds on him to find a decisive way to end the war.

🎙 Concluding his working visit to the People's Republic of China, President Vladimir Putinanswered questions from Russian media (October 18, 2023)
#RussiaChina
🇷🇺🇨🇳 Regarding the influence of external factors and conflicts on the development of Russian-Chinese relations, all these external factors amount to common threats, and they strengthen Russian-Chinese interaction.
I am optimistic about specific prospects. In March, we reached certain agreements and set forth eight clauses. Right now, the prime ministers will have to clarify these clauses in Bishkek, and they will sign a plan for our interaction until 2030. This is a very good, specific and substantial plan.
China's Belt and Road initiative is a global initiative and concerns practically every region of the world. What is called the Eurasian Partnership is a local-scale project. Without any doubt, one complements the other.
#MiddleEast
Regarding the impressions I got during conversations with the five regional leaders: I have an impression that no onewants this conflict to continue or expand, or the situation to escalate.
we have always advocated the creation of a Palestinian state that would be independent, sovereign and with a capital in East Jerusalem. After all, as demonstrated by today’s crisis, there is no way you can use momentary economic handouts in the way attempted by the United States, in lieu of addressing fundamental political issues dealing with the future of the Palestinian nations. We need to address fundamental political issues.
#Ukraine
If the Ukrainian side really wants to negotiate, it should not make any theatrical gestures but instead start by cancelling the presidential executive order prohibiting talks [with Russia].
Practical steps must be taken if there is a real desire to hold negotiations.

#HistoryOfDiplomacy
8️⃣0️⃣ years ago, on February 4, 1945, the Yalta (Crimea) Conference of the Allied leaders — Joseph Stalin, Winston Churchill and Franklin D.Roosevelt officially opened.
#YaltaConference of the Anti-Hitler coalition leaders went down in history as one of the most significant and key international meetings of the 'Big Three' during #WWII. The Yalta talks became a symbol of successful cooperation between the Soviet Union, the US and the UK in the fight against the common enemy — Nazism.
The decisions taken at the Conference outlined the frame of the post-war #YaltaPotsdam international relations system, with the #UNCharter becoming its international legal basis.
***
By late 1944 — early 1945, the Red Army expelled the enemy from all the territory of the Soviet Union and proceeded with the operations aimed at liberating Europe from the Nazis.
🌟 In the first days of February 1945, the forces of the Red Army's 1st Byelorussian and the 1st Ukrainian Fronts successfully completed the Vistula-Oder Offensive, overcoming over 500 kilometres in less than a month (!), liberated Poland and then reached the border with Germany. Berlin was just 60 kilometres away. The collapse of the Third Reich was just a matter of time.
As the long-awaited common Allies' #Victory over Nazi Germany was as close as never, the future post-war world order-related issues needed to be discussed by the victorious great powers. While the Soviet forces were rapidly advancing in Eastern Europe in January, the preparations for the big negotiations to shape the future of the world were in full swing. Yalta, a Crimean city, was picked as the venue for that historic meeting (February 4-11, 1945).
The fate of post-war Germany was the key focus of the Yalta Conference. The Allies reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating German militarism and Nazism, and creating guarantees that “Germany would never be able again to disturb peace of the world.”
At the Yalta talks, the 'Big Three' managed to reach agreement on Poland’s post-war borders. The Soviet delegation consistently promoted the idea of ensuring the interests of the Poles and their fundamental right to independence and sovereignty. Winston Churchill, addressing the House of Commons upon his return from Yalta, on February 27, said: "If not for the prodigious exertions and sacrifices of Russia, Poland was doomed to utter destruction at the hands of the Germans. Not only Poland as a state and as a nation, but the Poles as a race were doomed by Hitler to be destroyed or reduced to a servile station".
The Yalta Conference resulted also in adopting of 'the Declaration of Free Europe' and other crucial international legal documents on the fundamental principles of the #UnitedNations, laying down the foundation of the Yalta-Potsdam international system.
☝️ The rapidly strengthening international posture and influence of the Soviet Union, bolstered by the outstanding achievements of the Red Army in the battlefields, had a significant impact on the course and the outcomes of the negotiations. By the time Europe was almost freed from the shackles of hitlerism, the Soviet soldier enjoyed the fame of liberator whose noble feat was well-known all across the continent.
The decisions of the Yalta Conference strengthened the anti-fascist coalition in the final stages of WWII and contributed to the Victory over Germany.
🎙 From a briefing by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (Saransk, January 31, 2025):
💬 "The participants in the Yalta Conference managed to overcome their differences, and, acting in the spirit of true solidarity, mutual respect and trust, abandoned their fleeting interests for the sake of defeating the common enemy and achieving a common victory, peace and freedom for all countries and peoples.
Unfortunately, much has changed since then. Now, multiple proponents of historical revisionism tend to falsify historical reality and associate the Yalta agreements with the split of Europe and the bloc confrontation of the post-war period."

📝Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, has published a new article in the journal Pravovedenie: “Lost Illusions, or How the International Criminal Court has become a legal nonentity.”
The article offers a detailed legal and political critique of the International Criminal Court (ICC), whose credibility and neutrality have come into serious question.
Key points:
▪️ The ICC no longer represents the international community as a whole, operating instead in the interests of the so-called collective West.
▪️ It selectively pursues cases against political figures in the Global South while turning a blind eye to war crimes and aggression committed by Western nations and NATO members.
▪️ The issuance of arrest warrants for sitting heads of sovereign states – including the President of Russia – reflects the court’s descent into propaganda, with no practical or legal consequences.
▪️ In light of this, Medvedev argues for the development of alternative legal mechanisms at the regional level – for example, within BRICS – grounded in the UN Charter, sovereign equality, and non-interference in internal affairs.

🇷🇺 Russia’s Foreign Ministry Statement on Gaza
On August 8, Israel’s security cabinet approved plans to expand military operations in the Gaza Strip – targeting the once most populous central area.
📢Reports indicate that all Palestinian civilians will be forcibly evacuated, with plans for full military occupation.
⚠️These actions – already widely condemned – risk deepening the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and destabilising the entire Middle East.
🇷🇺 Russia’s position is clear:
🔹 Immediate ceasefire.
🔹Release of all hostages and detainees.
🔹 Unhindered humanitarian access.
Moscow reaffirms: the only path forward is within international law – the two-state solution, creating an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and security alongside Israel.
