If you’re visiting St. Petersburg, be sure to stop by the Brusnitsyn Merchants’ Mansion on the banks of the Bolshaya Neva.🏛️ The mansion preserves a magnificent White Ballroom with an elaborately decorated ceiling. Visitors can also see the famed “Dracula’s Mirror,” the grand ceremonial dining hall designed in the Late Renaissance style, a rococo drawing room with original late-19th-century damask wall coverings, an opulent grand staircase, and an airy winter garden. ✨ The mansion has only recently reopened to the public. Nearby is the Brusnitsyn cultural center, which hosts exhibitions and concerts, along with restaurants — all overlooking the Gulf of Finland. 🌊 Photo: @evgeniia_seredova 📍Coordinates: Yandex.Maps #SaintPetersburg 🏙️Beyond Moscow🏔️

— A wave of negativity has hit St. Petersburg online over allegedly poor New Year preparations… Judging by the footage above, the Northern Capital has been decorated at least quite well. That said, this may be a distorted impression, and we’d welcome local residents among our subscribers to share how things really look on the ground. Friends, we’d also be happy to see photos of how your city has been decorated. Share your best shots in the comments and don’t forget to say where they were taken! ☃️ 📸Photo:@korneevablog 📍Coordinates:Yandex Maps #SaintPetersburg 🏙️Beyond Moscow🏔️

Having recently indulged in my inner Petrograd local in #SaintPetersburg, I stumbled upon an incredible museum I had never heard of or read about before — 📌The Museum of Political History of Russia. You might roll your eyes at the name, but in reality, this place is a must-visit for anyone interested in history. Housed in a beautiful Art Nouveau mansion originally built for ballerina Mathilde Kschessinska — and later used by Lenin himself — it’s the only museum in Russia that holds original artifacts from pivotal moments like the abolition of serfdom and the 1917 Revolution. You don’t just learn history here — you fall into it. You’ll see the actual Manifesto abolishing serfdom signed by Alexander II, a brutally scathing newspaper article about Nicholas II (check photo 2), handwritten letters from Civil War participants, and even the actual noose used to hang Sophia Perovskaya (photo in comments), along with bombs used by underground revolutionaries. You can listen to courtroom speeches by revolutionaries and walk across the creaky floor of Lenin’s office — the same floor the leader himself once walked. One visit isn’t nearly enough to take in all the knowledge this place has to offer. If I really lived in Petrogradsky District, I’d probably spend my weekends here instead of watching historical documentaries. 🏙️Beyond Moscow🏔️

🏛The “Nebylitsa” Mansion #SaintPetersburg This museum is a unique place where reality and fantasy intertwine. Here, not only the exhibits come to life — even the walls themselves seem alive. In the halls where the heroes of fairy tales once “lived,” visitors can almost hear their whispers and feel their presence. The story of the museum unfolds around the mystical history of the mansion itself. Created by YandexGPT based on reviews. 📌 The museum is housed in a 19th-century building once owned by merchant Anna Vasilyevna Tselibeyeva before the Revolution. Since 2001, it has been recognized as a cultural heritage site. 📍 Coordinates: 59.938976, 30.353916 🗺View on Yandex Maps 📷smolyak_maksim #Architecture#Museum 🏙️Beyond Moscow🏔️
