🇮🇳🛰️🌌 Today at 12:29 PM IST, GalaxEye launched the world’s first satellite that combines Optical + Synthetic Aperture Radar (optoSAR) sensors on a single platform - at a weight of ~190 kg, it is also the largest satellite built by a private company in India. The satellite was launched off SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket. The engineering significance is colossal. By fusing SAR with multispectral imaging in one pass, the optoSAR payload produces inherently aligned, analysis-ready imagery with roughly 3x the information of single-sensor systems.
