#c_lang Kilo is a small text editor that uses less than 1,000 lines of code. It is simple to use and doesn't need any extra libraries. You can save files with **CTRL-S**, quit with **CTRL-Q**, and search for words with **CTRL-F**. Kilo is a good starting point for making more advanced text editors or command-line interfaces. This lock is necessary mainly because CPython's memory management is not thread-safe. (However, since the GIL exists, other features have grown to depend on the guarantees that it enforces.)

Functions thus registered are automatically executed upon normal interpreter termination. atexit runs these functions in the reverse order in which they were registered; if you register A, B, and C, at #interpreter#termination time they will be run in the order C, B, A.
